Tips on Obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration

A bachelor of business administration can be earned through a four-year program. Many students apply to local schools for this lucrative field knowing that they will be very employable when they graduate. Since I was interested in the field I decided to follow suite and apply to several schools using the same form letter.

Unfortunately, my form letter had a major mistake that the schools seemed to notice. I wrote that I was interested in earning a bachelor of business administration instead of BA of business administration. This was a terrible mishap that actually cost me in the long run.

While none of the schools pointed out that I wrote bachelor of business administration they also didn't call me for an interview. Some of the institutions sent me a polite letter stating that I wasn't the right candidate for their programs. My heart sank after reading each rejection in spite of their well-wishes for good luck in all of my future endeavors.

After receiving a handful of rejections I decided that the problem was the form letter. I now knew the awful feeling of impersonal notes that really could fit in just about any school. I only knew this because my bachelor of bussiness administration spelling mistake led to an onslaught of impersonal rejection letters.

I had to come up with a plan pretty quickly. I underestimated the schools that offered the business programs and I was running out of time. When I finally decided to write individual, personalized letters to each school, I found my error. The very first sentence stated that I was really interested in earning a bachelor of bussiness administration and when I read it I just about fell on the floor.

How embarrassing it is to have such a glaring error in the very first sentence of a semi-professional correspondence. I was at a loss as to how I would remedy the situation. After considering options like changing my name or looking for schools out of state, I figured that I would give my local community college a try.

The community college offered a bachelor of business administration and the institution costs a fraction of the money that other colleges and universities do. My spelling error actually led to a great, affordable alternative to an expensive college education.

The great thing is that I can transfer my credits to a pricier school after two years. This cuts my tuition into an affordable amount that makes my parents smile. Who knew that a spelling mistake like bachelor of bussiness administration would lead to such great things?
